Accreditation of professionals for the Pope's visit |
1. ScopeThis document defines the rules applicable to the accreditation process of Social Communication Professionals in the context of the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Shrine of Fatima in August 2023. 2. Stakeholders and competencesAs the event organizer, The Shrine of Fatima, is responsible for issuing and granting Accreditation for Social Communication Professionals, in articulation with the national security authorities. 3. Accreditation AdmissibilityThe Accreditation issued by the Shrine of Fatima is the only document conferring authorization for the informative coverage of the event. Any other type of accreditation obtained in another time or place will not be admissible. Media Professionals who wish to provide information coverage of WYD and His Holiness, Pope Francis, visit to the Shrine of Fatima must apply for separate accreditations for each of these events. 4. Procedures to be followedConsidering the security requirements associated with the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Shrine of Fatima, the Media Professionals who wish to carry out the informative coverage of this event are required to take into account the procedures indicated for processing the application for the respective accreditation.
5. Ownership of accreditationEach issued Accreditation is personal and non-transferable. Therefore, it is considered to be a personal document, property of the holder of the data associated with it, meaning that any improper use of that data by third parties may be punishable under the applicable legislation. 6. Accreditation of technical vehiclesThe accreditation of technical vehicles must be requested by the same means indicated in 4.2, registering the specifics of the information related to the vehicle in the "Observations" field . As previously mentioned, the indication of the license plate is meant to facilitate the circulation in the city of Fatima and to access to the Shrine´s surroundings, not guaranteeing any access to parking for vehicles, which will always be dependent on availability. In cases where, associated with the issuance of personal Accreditation, is also granted accreditation to a vehicle, additional information will be sent by email. 7. ComplianceAs mentioned above, for security reasons, applications for accreditation made after the indicated deadlines or by any other means than the indicated one, may not be considered. In addition, requests whose information does not comply with the demanded requirements, may not be considered. Considering these requirements, the media should request applications for accreditation, taking into account the necessary redundancy in case of unavailability of any of the holders of previously issued accreditation. 8. Personal Data Protection ClauseThe Shrine of Fatima, as Data Controller, ensures that the personal data, collected within the scope of the Accreditation application process (namely: name, image and contacts, as well as those referring to its function and respective means of social communication), will be used exclusively for the management of the accreditation process by the Shrine of Fatima to media professionals, namely, for access, permanence and circulation of journalists, reporters, technicians and photographers in the Prayers Area and other spaces allocated to them during the celebrations or moments susceptible of journalistic coverage. The Shrine of Fatima does not share personal data with third parties, except for the legal compliance obligations (namely, for the purpose of "vetting" by the competent public authorities, in compliance with the Portuguese and European legislation). The retention period of personal data is the necessary one for the pursuit of the purpose that has motivated its collection and processing, at the end of which, the personal data is deleted, except in cases where it proves to be important for archive purposes, public interest or scientific or historical research, in which case it shall be kept without a time limit. The data may also be used for statistical purposes, in which case they will be anonymized. As a data subject, you may, at any time, exercise your right of access, rectification, erasure, limitation, opposition and portability, by verifying this possibility, requesting it to the email address dpo@fatima.pt. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of personal data concerning you violates the General Data Protection Regulation, through the www.cnpd.pt website.
